The Reality Shock of Teaching…
Wish there was practical support made specifically for your role?
Want reassurance that what you’re experiencing is normal?
Just too many educators — es pecially preservice teachers, graduators relief teachers, and support staff — feel isolated, unsure, or unsupported.
Education can be challenging, and formal PD doesn’t always meet the real, day-to-day needs of people in classrooms.
This is a space for connection, shared wisdom, and honest conversations — so educators don’t feel like they have to figure everything out alone.
You will find a collabration of real experienced teachers and resources aimed to support.
Why Teaching That Connects is Different
Each of the resources is created;
Grounded in real classrooms
Not an idealised theory. Not corporate PD. Everything shared here is designed to be used tomorrow, not someday.Emotionally aware, not emotionally heavy
We support teacher wellbeingTrauma-aware and developmentally informed
Behaviour is understood as communication, shaped by the environment, experience, and the nervous system.Supportive, not performative
Learning here feels more like a trusted staffroom conversation than a formal training session.
I work at the intersection of teaching, child development, and emotional wellbeing — shaped by my own experience as a first-year teacher who cared deeply but often felt overwhelmed and underprepared.
In those early years, I wanted calm, connected classrooms but quickly realised that behaviour management alone wasn’t enough. I needed a deeper understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and the role of relationships in learning — for my students and for myself.
With over 13 years’ experience in education, I now support teachers in moving beyond behaviour management toward understanding, regulation, and connection.
As a registered counsellor, I help parents better understand their child’s emotions, respond more calmly, and build stronger, more connected relationships at home.
I am a mum of two non-stop kids, wife and a lover of good coffee and dancing.
